Patti McGorman

Head Chef and Owner

Patti is the owner and Head Chef of Red Door espresso. Patti started ‘Red Door’ with a vision to pass on her many skills that she has gained over the years running multiple hospitality business to up and coming hospitality enthusiasts. Patti started out as she intended to go on and has involved her family in Red Door since the beginning making it a one of a kind family adventure. On a Sunday morning you will find Patti and her partner Jason enjoying a nice pot of tea and listening to old classics on the radio… as Patti would say in the kitchen “Lets rock n roll!”

What would you suggest to someone visiting the Barossa to see/do?
Visit either Menglers Hill or Steingarten to get a fabulous view of the Valley, all the vines and all the beautiful churches.

What is your favourite thing about working at Red Door espresso?
Receiving hugs from all of our lovely locals.

Penelope DeRuiter

Restaurant Manager

Penelope is our Restaurant Manager, all round dog enthusiast and Patti’s daughter… you might not be able to tell them apart as they look very similar!
Originally from the beaches of WA, Penelope has spent most of her time growing up in the Barossa. An art and design lover, Penelope creates all her own artwork to hang in her house when she’s not out walking her dog Donnie with her fiancé Jeffrey. Show her a picture of your dog and you will have already made a best friend in Penelope.

What would you suggest to someone visiting the Barossa to see/do?
Seppeltsfield Road- it’s an experience in itself. There are so many great businesses on that road that complement each other. Or come see me at Red Door on a Saturday and listen to some live music and enjoy a cocktail.

What is your favourite thing about working at Red Door espresso?
The team and connecting with a great community. I love all of our locals.

Sleeping in. Then taking my dog for a work and getting a coffee.

If you had to make up your own catch phrase, what would it be?
Delicious.

Lisa Mustard

Senior Front of House Attendant

Lisa joined our team when Red Door was in its early days and she has been bringing a fabulous energy to work every day since. Lisa is our front of house guru; she is always up for a chat and has some great local knowledge on how to enjoy your time in the Barossa being born and bred in the Valley. On her days off you can find Lisa socialising with friends and relaxing with her family and cat – Stickle. If espresso martinis are on the menu… they’re calling Lisa’s name!

What would you suggest to someone visiting the Barossa to see/do?
Wine tastings, grab a hard lemonade from Steins Taphouse, visit Seppetlsfield Road Gin Distillery, choose chocolates from Barossa Valley Chocolate Company and drive up to Menglers Hill lookout to enjoy the view.

What is your favourite thing about working at Red Door espresso?
Meeting lots of lovely people and working with a great team.

Emma Fisher

Senior Barista

Emma joined our fun loving team in 2018 after trading the waves of the Mornington Peninsula for the vines of the Barossa Valley. Emma is our head barista and loves experimenting with her latté art and coming up with creative new drinks. Emma has a real soft spot for her cuddly pooch Marley and loves having a sleep in and cuddling Marley on her days off…. and maybe her fiancé Luke too!

What would you suggest to someone visiting the Barossa to see/do?
Come visit me for your morning coffee.

What is your favourite thing about working at Red Door espresso?
I get to see all my favourite people.

Cameron Coverdale

Chef

Cameron or donkey as he is better know by us, joined the Red Door team after he frequented us for hot chocolates and decided he would rather be on the other side of the counter cooking up a storm with Patti. Cameron is always up for a great chat especially if it’s about eight ball as he claims he is a Barossa pro! Cameron’s most amazing feat to date is when he ate a whole tray of lasagne for dinner.

What would you suggest to someone visiting the Barossa to see/do?
Join me for a game of pool at the local pub.

Amber Mazzone

Apprentice Chef

Amber is a 2nd year apprentice chef and joined our Red Door family earlier this year. Amber is an avid bush walker and knows all the best trails the Barossa has to offer. In the kitchen Amber is learning all the tricks of the trade from Patti, their favourite saying is – GIRL POWER!

What would you suggest to someone visiting the Barossa to see/do?
Explore all the bushwalking trails, we have some great ones here!

What is your favourite thing about working at Red Door espresso?
The friendly and loving atmosphere from the Red Door team and also from the customers.

Cooking breakfast for my family, walking the dogs with mum or playing Pokemon Go.
